Your first bicycle

Get something you can affort - won't cost an arm or a leg

Do you research (homework)

Won't go wrong if you buy a Colnago, Masi, Cinelli or a De Rosa (in no particular order) 

Be more adventurious, there are many understated bicycle out there that is cheaper (can buy more)

Get a poor condition bicycle, will end up spending more on restoring - weigh the odds

Buy more frames, can swap components in the future

Buy complete bicycles gives you more bang for your money though

 

That's all I can think of for now!

Remember, if you are getting a separate groupset
Make sure it's the period correct component
